Suggested use
You will need:
1 cup (16 tablespoons) butter, cold, cut into 1/2" cubes*
4-6 tablespoons of water, cold
Tips:
Place mixture in a bowl.Work in butter until unevenly crumbly, leaving some pea-sized pieces intact.
Stir in the water, adding enough to make a cohesive dough. Divide the dough in half, shape into disks, and wrap. Refrigerate 15 minutes before rolling.
Before rolling, spray the work surface and top of the dough with gluten-free cornstarch, or roll the dough between pieces of plastic wrap or parchment paper.
Roll to desired size and bake according to recipe directions.
Baker's tip:
The crust should be baked until golden brown and may take 5-10 minutes longer than a wheat crust to bake completely.
*To make dairy free, substitute vegan butter for butter sticks or margarine.
