If desired, substitute 1/2 cup vegetable shortening and 1 tablespoon water for 1/2 cup butter.
Baking Instructions
Set oven to 375°F.** For best results, butter should be completely softened or slightly melted. To soften butter straight from the refrigerator, microwave unwrapped for 10 to 15 seconds. Margarine or spread can be used in place of butter.
Combine: cookie mix, softened butter, water, and egg in medium bowl. Mix until soft dough forms. Shape dough using rounded teaspoons. Place on ungreased baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375°F. 8 to 10 minutes or until edges set. Let cool for 2 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Store cookies in an airtight container.
Tip: Allow the baking sheet to cool between batches.
